Transport From The
Airports The more you are willing to pay, the easier it is to get into town. .Heathrow
, The high-speed Heathrow Express trains travel non-stop to Paddington Station
(every 15minutes -17min) for £14. A much cheaper alternative is to
take the slow Underground train into central London (every 5–9minutes - 50min)
for £3.80. If you plan to use public transport on your arrival day, buy a
Travelcard. Taxis are far too expensive for us to mention. Gatwick, The
non-stop Gatwick Express train runs between the South Terminal and Victoria
Station (every 15–30minutes - 30min) for £13. However, if you can spare extra
10 minutes take Southern services train from the same platform to Victoria
(every 15–20minutes - 40min) for £9. Stansted, is served by the
Stansted Express to Liverpool Street (every 15–30minutes - 50min), which costs
£14.50. Airbus runs 24 hours a day to Victoria Coach Station (every 30minutes -
1hr 30min), and costs £10.Transport Around Town
London public transport is by far the most scenic in the world. If you need to
be somewhere quickly you should take the Underground. Otherwise, stick to Buses
and boats where ever you can as the view is superior. If you have money to
burn, take a taxi as London taxis are notoriously expensive.
